How do Damon braces work?

Traditional braces have wires tied into brackets with small elastic ligatures or modules. The elastic  module creates a bit of friction as the wire attempts to pull the teeth into a nicer position. The Damon System has the wires attached to the brackets with a small smooth metal clip on the bracket. There is therefore no need for the elastic module and so friction is reduced and thus the teeth move very quickly.

Stages of Treatment

Stage 1: During the consultation the dentist will take measurements and will then talk to you about the treatment, how it works, how long it takes and of course the cost.

Stage 2: If you are keen to go ahead, we will need some records. A full mouth X-ray, photographs and impressions are required.

Stage 3: Your braces are fitted and appointments made to check progress and make sure you are happy with your braces.
